I am a field geologist interested in a variety of tectonic and Earth History questions. My current research focuses on the tectonic history of the Arequipa Massif. The main tools that I am using to figure out where the Arequipa Massif came from and when and how it was emplaced in southwestern South America include sedimentology, sequence stratigraphy, geochronology, geochemistry, paleontology and paleomagnetism. I am also using a stratigraphic approach in South America to provide insights into the biogeochemical evolution of the Earth’s surface environments in the Ediacaran Period.
